We live in a world that changes all the time, and Valley Bible Church
is also experiencing some changes. But there are some things that will
always stay the same.
These will not change.
1. Our commitment to teach, preach and live by God's Word. After all, "Bible" is our middle name.
2. Our purpose to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe
that continues to be Christ's mandate for the church of all time and in
all places.
3. Our desire to serve our community as representatives of Jesus. Followers of Jesus are to be known for serving others.
These changed in 2009.
1. Pastors Doug Knowles and Peter Sanderson left to serve the Lord where he called them. We miss them and their families and we pray for the Lord to bless and prosper them where they are.
2. We adopted a new Statement of Faith as a part of our Church Constitution. We joined with the Evangelical Free Churches to strengthen our statement of what we believe.
These will change in 2010.
1. We welcome a new Associate Pastor as Chad Hemphill joins our staff. We are pleased that the Lord has led Chad, his wife Kecia, and their sons Crandell and Carson to serve the Lord with us. We look forward to benefit from their gifts, passions and experiences to help us reach our community for Jesus Christ. There will be some time of transition as Chad and his family plan to move here at the end of January or early February. But he will begin his ministry here January 1. We cannot wait to see what the Lord will do through them here at Valley.
2. We anticipate changing our church by laws. The current ones have served us well, but we believe that as the church continues to grow, a change in how we organize will better enable us to fulfill our purpose. The leaders of the church have been discussing these changes for approximately one year. The new by laws, as approved by our church leadership, were presented at our QBM in November. You can pick up a copy at the Connection Center.
We would like to vote on the changes at the Congregational Business Meeting on February 26, 2010. For those who have not had the benefit of attending the presentation at November QBM, the bylaw committee will hold open forums at the following times to answer your questions. We urge you to read over the document and come to any of these forums with your questions. We will explain the reasons for the proposed changes as well as answer any questions you may have about how ministry at Valley Bible Church will be affected.

We ask you to do three things regarding the bylaw changes.
A. Please be in prayer.
B. Please become informed.
C. Please participate in the process and meetings when decisions will be made.
