Can God Really Change My Life?
Dear Friends,
Having just brewed myself a cup of French Roast, I invite you to consider something with me. Do we believe that God can really make a difference? How often are you and I confronted with our sinful nature, an old habit that hangs around like a bad tenant, or a way in us or even a circumstance that seems irreversible? And I ask the question, "Can God really change my life?" Now read 2 Peter 1:3-4.
(3) His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, (4) by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may be-come partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
2 Peter 1:3-4
What we read is that God‟s power has been given to us in Christ, whom He has made known to us by faith. And this power is applied to life and godliness. We should not limit God‟s ability to change every area of our lives, or limit him to a single area of our lives. His power has been unleashed by his Word… His promises for this purpose… that we become partakers of the divine nature, which lies in contrast to the corruption of our old ways. It sounds to me like God is able and fully intends to change our lives.
This challenges me to keep turning to him with all of my life, to marinate my soul with His Word so that His Spirit can continue His redemptive work in me. He is on a mission to restore his image in you and me. And only God can do this. May He multiply His Grace to you.
